I'm really enjoying my time off from school... I have a million fun little projects to attend to at home!
Today I started painting my new girl!
I can't believe it, almost. I'm finished with making the moulds of my new doll! I made the last one yesterday, and although I've been slaving away with this for about a month, I felt a little strange when I poured the last mould part...
And here they all are! I'm so proud of them!
And the prototype-doll is all finished and coated with shellac (for protection against the plaster when making the moulds).
I'm a little unsure of what to do with this prototype-girl! Right now she is resting in this cardboard box at school....
My new moulds are working! I tried casting from the two plaster moulds that were dry enough today. I'm so happy about this. Happy and excited! And very tired.
I love, love, love my new girl!

I cast two heads and two upper bodies that are drying now. Sister dolls?
They will be soft fired and cleaned next.
I have been very busy making moulds in school this week. So enjoyable!
These moulds are of my latest doll-girl; my biggest, tallest girl. It has been really great to scale things up: she will be a giant among my other dolls!
...and here she is a few weeks a go, before the mould making started...
I'm so fascinated by this whole process! I live in a mouldy doll bubble right now, it's great!
It was late one foggy and not very creative day, when suddenly I started building this blog-thing. I've been meaning to for almost a year; and since I decided that this will be the spring when I finally start getting things done, I thought I should start doing this, too...
Tomorrow I'm going to school, to work on my latest doll girl, and I really can't wait! I need to finish her now so that I can start making the moulds and casting.
Casting seems to be addictive, by the way... Be warned!
It's all I can think about these days.
